The Son of Neptune Book Review

Rick Riordan strikes again, and gives readers what they've been anticipating since the fateful truth was told—Percy Jackson is missing, but he's been found, and all the way in California, no less. With The Son of Neptune , Percy returns to his usual hilarious and heroic ways, making new friends and understanding the new stakes of the godly war on the horizon. With two new characters, Frank and Hazel, Riordan tells his famed quest narrative, bending the constraints of his world in an imaginative way that forces demigods of all kinds to finally collide.  Rick Riordan, dubbed "storyteller of the gods" but Publishers Weekly , is the author of five #1  New York Times   bestselling series, including Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, based on Norse myths. He is best known for his Percy Jackson and the Olympians books, which bring Greek mythology to life for contemporary readers. He expanded on that series with two more: the Heroes of Olympus and the Trials of Apollo, whi...

All of this and more is answered in tandem with Rick's continued conversations about death, the weight of war, and the possibility of hope in The Last Olympian . For my last (for now) series of answers in why the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is so great, read on!  Rick Riordan is the author of The Lost Hero ; the #1  New York Times  bestselling The Kane Chronicles; as well as all the books in the #1 New York Times bestselling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series: The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The Titan's Curse , The Battle of the Labyrinth , and The Last Olympian . The Battle of the Labyrinth Book Review

His most complex Percy Jackson novel yet, The Battle of the Labyrinth is a story that deals with the heaviest themes in the series thus far. Addressing death and grief, betrayal, and war, our favorite characters enter fights that have deadlier consequences than they've understood before. The Titan's Curse hinted that everything was about to change—and The Battle of the Labyrinth has shown us how. In this review, I'll continue my series in by addressing the things that make the fourth book in the Percy Jackson series so great. Rick Riordan is the author of the #1 New York Times bestselling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. He lives in San Antonio, Texas, with his wife and two sons. The Titan's Curse Book Review

In the third book of the famed and beloved Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, the plot thickens as Percy's true purpose is revealed. After a surprise encounter with a manticore that allows Riordan to completely extend his cast of characters, Percy's world flips upside down. In this novel about new beginnings and impending endings, The Titan's Curse sets the perfect tone for the rest of the series with its discussions about being a teenager and death, and even with its choice of cover art. Read on for my reasons as to why the third book of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is so great.  Rick Riordan's is the author of the #1 New York Times bestselling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. The Sea of Monsters Book Review

In a sequel just as entertaining, thoughtful, and thrilling as its predecessor, The Sea of Monsters is a wonderful second novel in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Second books (in trilogies, in series) usually get a bad rap, but there are a lot of things The Sea of Monsters does well. As I explained in my review of The Lightning Thief , I am going to question what makes this series so successful, so great, and a series that can still resonate and inflict powerful feelings of nostalgia so many years after its original publication. For the second part of my answers to all of these questions, read on!  Rick Riordan is the author of the #1 New York Times bestselling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. The Lightning Thief Book Review

The widely loved middle grade series that everyone of my generation credits for their love of reading and writing, Percy Jackson and the Olympians has been more than just a series of five books for many years now. Not only does this series provoke a sense of severe nostalgia, but it's an entertaining read and immediate mood-booster for anyone at any age. It would be silly to try and actually analytically review the Percy Jackson series like I do with other books on this blog—this series demands to be enjoyed, so that is what I plan on doing! But I am, throughout this series of reviews, going to be asking: what makes this book series so successful? What makes it so great? For the first few of my answers, read on!  Rick Riordan is the author of the #1  New York Times bestselling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
