I apologize in advance if every else's favorite hero and favorite villain are the same as mine, but to leave them out would have been a sin.
Heroes:
Heroes:
- Harry Potter from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series: Harry is a classic, guys. He was also what got me into reading in the first place, and even though now I see who he is as a character and the whole broad spectrum of all the things I know now, when you're a fourth grade kid who's reading about a fourteen-year-old who gets to go to magic school . . . well, let's just say you keep on waiting for your Hogwarts letter no matter what age you're at.
- Clary Fray from Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments: Clary is also a classic, even though she's a bit more modern than Harry Potter. She's really passionate and she's also new to what she's exposed to. Hey! Who does that sound like? She's basically Harry Potter reincarnated into an awesome female character who deals with super enhanced warriors with "tattoos" instead of wizards with waving wands.
- Emma Carstairs from Cassandra Clare's The Dark Artifices: When you get to my villain's sections, you'll notice Cassandra Clare's name again because I really like her characters, but again, Emma is great. She's got a little bit of everything: she's conflicted, tough, weak, and trying to figure everything out all at once while still trying to be the person everyone wants and expects her to be. She's also a really great female hero.
- Voldemort (aka He Who Must Not be Named but whoops) from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series: Dude! Get a life! It's super creepy how he's always freaking out about Harry and then the whole speaking to snakes and attacking Ginny and that underground chamber . . . very well done job Ms. Rowling. And great job Mr. Riddle for a) freaking everyone out but b) also being a really cool, deep, villain. Which may sound weird, but I always thought Voldemort was more than what he seemed, and he was, right up until the very end for me. Read Harry Potter if you haven't read it already!
- Valentine/Sebastian (this is kinda cheating, but oh well) in Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments series: Told you! Cassandra Clare's characters are pretty great. Valentine is the creepy dad villain in the first three books and then he passes the torch onto his son Sebastian for the last three books. Overall, very creepy dudes that really throw Clary and Jace for a loop throughout all the books, right up to the very end. Like father, like son, though, right? Read all of Cassandra Clare's stuff if you haven't already!
